Sometime in the early 1970s, Professor Godwin made a series of recordings for Classroom Materials Company, a recording label operating out of Great Neck, NY which published music and educational material intended for young students. The company closed down decades ago and I was able to find very limited information about them, but their recordings included spoken word strictly educational material as well as folk songs.
The albums contain no credits for the artists involved, but Professor Godwin features on over 60 tracks on at least 28 different LPs. In some cases he is performing with just a guitar accompaniment; it is unclear whether he was accompanying himself on guitar, or whether it may have been Karl Finger who is credited on the label of three older LPs we happen to have. In a number of tracks he is accompanied by Viki Ann Diamond.
The Classroom Materials Company LPs are numbered sequentially and based on my collection Professor Godwin seems to be on CM 1200 through CM 1228, possibly others. I’ve converted his tracks from the LPs to MP3 format which you can listen to below. Presented in album release order.
